Case brought by Samuel Ashton of Manchester calico printer against Joseph Hall, Isaac Hall, Betty Ashton, Robert Stone and Elias Hall all of Castleton Derby. Dispute concerns land in Castleton bequeathed in the will of Samuel Ashton of Derby farmer. Samuel Ashton farmer was married to Betty Ashton and Samuel Ashton the calico printer was his son. Other relatives mentioned: Thomas Ashton son of Samuel Ashton farmer now deceased, and his children Sarah, Betty and Richard; Isaac Ashton son of Thomas Ashton farmer and his children Isaac, Robert, Samuel III and Joseph. Nancy Wain, a further daughter of Samuel Ashton farmer is also mentioned and her husband John Wain. Mrs Isaac Ashton and Mrs Thomas Ashton are not in the document but have been added in to make the siblings link. Robert Stone and Elias Hall are named in the will as responsible for admistering a trust for the grandchildren, Joseph Hall and Isaac Hall are the executors of the will.
