Mann v. Bound
Case brought by James Mann a dealer in twist from Manchester against John Leaf and John Bound. Mann invested in the subscription association to build houses on Leaf Square (see previous cases involving Bound v. Denny and Bound v. Heap). He claims that it was understood that he would pay £400 towards the house, but has been charged more than this and that the building has taken longer than Bound and Leaf said it would. John Leaf has taken out an action in the Court of Common Pleas at Lancaster to try and make Mann pay a larger sum, so he has brought this case to try and stop this. |
