Bound v. Chambers

Part 1

Bound v. Chambers

Case brought by John Bound of Salford gentleman against Thomas Rawlinson, William Moth of Huddersfield (no occupation given) William Leigh of Liverpool merchant and Richard Chambers. In 1801 Bound went into business with Rawlinson and Chambers as public brewers and they erected several buildings for this purpose at Rawells Garden in Salford. In 1802 Rawlinson fell out with Chambers and left the partnership. He was replaced by William Edge. Bound left the partnership in 1804 and it was finally dissolved shortly afterwards. In 1806 Edge was declared bankrupt with Leigh and Moth acting as the assignees of his estate. The dispute focuses on the division of the assets of the partnership for which Rawlinson has brought an action at law against Bound.
