Part 1 |
Bound v. Denny
Case brought by John Bound of Salford gentleman against Thomas Denny slater of Salford. Dispute focuses on a debt for building work carried out by Denny for building 9 houses on a plot of land in Pendleton owned by Bound. The houses were erected by an association or club through subscription (for which John Leaf (no occupatiion given) acted as treasurer), although Bound advanced some money on behalf of this. Denny however has claimed the full debt for the buildings from Bound and he disputes this. In the answer Denny claims that he did not know the houses were being erected by a club. |
